I want to welcome you to Amoore Dobermans. After long thought on what breed to select as my first pet I decided on the Doberman. My first Doberman was purchased in 1986 from inquiries I made from the local newspaper - what a mistake. My inquiries led me to a home where my heart was torn apart by a small filthy red bitch that I felt the need to rescue from the environment. Bailey came home with me that day. What I had on my hands did not surface until she was about six months old and for the next two years I devoted all of my time correcting a very fear aggressive dog. This is how I got started in behavior training and was my introduction to obedience. This story had a very good result and I would love to share it with anyone who asks. To establish a solid foundation, I believe Dobermans need to have at least a basic level of obedience training.
I became so involved in obedience that I was asked to come on as an instructor at the same school where I worked Bailey through her problems. As I spent lots of time at local competition I also became interested in the Conformation ring and I pursued my first potential show dog in 1992. I had a difficult time finding breeders that were willing to talk with me, but I was finally able to get at least a couple of breeders to show interest. Several dogs later I finally had one that was actually show quality, which I purchased in early 1997. This dog, Austin, finished his AKC championship at the very young age of 13 months. WOW is all I could say about the feeling I had with this accomplishment. My experience proves that a lot of research must go into the selection of that potential show dog.
My research and experience with Austin led me to Mae Downing and Doris Molin of Mikadobe. I owe everything to them for where I am today. Their guidance, instruction, and time were instrumental in my introduction to the world of dog breeding. I believe the only reason to breed is to improve the Doberman breed. Health, temperament and the Doberman Pinscher Club of America standard is the foundation of my breeding program.
I work fulltime with a local grocery chain, and I have 35+ years with the same employer. I am a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America and the Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club. I have been in the Atlanta area since moving here from Florida in 1996.
I recently (03/10/07) married Sabrina Garrett (Manafi Dobermans) and now live in Nicholson, Ga., which is about 60 miles east of Metro Atlanta. Sabrina brings a wealth of dog and Doberman knowledge to this household, and we both look forward to our future together.
The dogs are our hobby and our kids. We have a passion to do the right thing for the breed ALL the time. Retired show dogs become our pets and receive unconditional love 24/7.
Sincerely,
Jeff and Sabrina Moore
